Something We Both Wanted
🧸 A Moment from the Story
In “The Game We Both Wanted,” Quzii and Max reach for the same toy.
Neither lets go.
And for a while, no one plays at all.
The firetruck becomes more than a toy.
It becomes a symbol of fairness.
A test of trust.
A space between.
These prompts help children think about shared wanting - without blame or pressure - and how co-existence feels inside their bodies.
✏️ How to Use These
- Choose 1–2 prompts during circle time or journaling
- Invite drawing or speaking (child’s choice)
- For group use: allow silence after asking - these work best slowly
- Optional: place Bronto in the center of the group, as a soft witness
🌱 Prompts for Reflection
- Have you ever wanted the same thing as someone else?
What did it feel like in your body? - Did anyone tell you who should have it first?
How did that feel? - What’s something you’ve shared - even if it was hard?
- If you could build a game for two people to play fairly, what would it look like?
What would the rules be? - Can you want something… and still care about someone else who wants it too?
What helps you do that?
🌿 Why This Works
These prompts gently separate:
- Wanting from taking
- Sharing from losing
- Fairness from sameness
Children explore their own emotional logic - and begin to trust that shared space doesn’t mean giving up who they are.
🧸 Bronto Says:
“You can both want something.
And you can both matter - at the same time.
I’ll be right here while you figure that out.”
