🧸 A Moment from the Story

In “The Game We Both Wanted,” Quzii and Max go from conflict to stillness, from silence to side-by-side creation.

They don’t talk it through.
They just… start building.

Not the old game.
A new one - together.

This activity invites children to do just that: rebuild on their terms, with their rules, and their sense of readiness.

🪵 What You’ll Need

• A mix of open-ended building materials:
  blocks, magnetic tiles, soft bricks, or found objects
• Space for two children (or more) to build side by side
• A soft observer: Bronto, or any anchor plush

🧰 Activity: The Two-Start Structure

Step 1:
Say softly:

“Let’s make one thing, but you can each start on your own side.”

Step 2:
Give each child 3–4 pieces to begin with - separately.
Encourage different starting ideas. No merging yet.

Step 3:
Invite a “meeting point”:

• A middle piece
• A shared space
• A Bronto in between

“Can Bronto sit where your two parts meet?”

Step 4:
Let the structure grow. No corrections. No praise. Just support the process.

This isn’t just building. It’s symbolic reparation.

When children co-create after conflict, they show:

• Mutual regulation
